ChamomileChamomile has a long history of use as a way to help children and adults sleep. In Mexican culture it is known as manzanilla. I recommend chamomile tea for children and infants who need some help getting to sleep. This could include children with ear infections who are being treated, but in whom the antibiotic has not started working yet. Children with colds or viruses who are uncomfortable would also benefit from chamomile. You can mix the tea with milk or formula to make it taste better. Chamomile is safe for children and babies over 6 months. Parents should call their doctor if they have a question about their child, if their child seems to be in pain and they are not sure why, or any time the child appears ill and the illness cannot be explained. |
